How to become an ACA
- Complete Advance level exam (Case Study can be attempted if you are in the final year of a training agreement or have completed your training agreement).
- To successfully achieve the ACA qualification, you must demonstrate that you have: completed 450 days of work experience at an ATE; passed 15 exam modules; undertaken professional development; and have advanced your ethical understanding and professional skepticism.
- ACCA members are required to complete a 24-month training agreement covering a minimum of 300 practical work experience days.
- If you have had previous work experience at an ICAEW ATE within the last two years, you may be entitled to claim credit for prior work experience (CPWE) for up to 8 months, potentially reducing your training requirement to 16 months.

- When registering between 1 July and 31 October, there will be a half-year fee + VAT.
- When registering between 1 November and 31 December the full annual fee will apply, but in this instance, the first annual bill will be issued after 13/14 months.

ACA dates and deadlines
You only have a limited time to book your place as exams are booked on a first come, first-served basis – so it is essential that you plan ahead. Make sure you know the date exam bookings open and close. All the dates you need for 2024 are also included in this year’s ACA planner.
We cannot accept late bookings or changes to an exam application after the booking deadline and any errors or omissions cannot be corrected after the booking deadline.
