Course Description:
This course is designed to enhance the knowledge and skills of level 5 accounting and business students in the subject of financial reporting. Students will develop a deep understanding of how to report on the financial performance of a business in the United Kingdom. Through a comprehensive curriculum, students will learn to analyse financial statements, evaluate financial performance, and effectively communicate financial information to different stakeholder groups, including senior managers, shareholders, potential investors, and lenders. The course will also cover important topics such as equality and diversity issues in communication, creation and interpretation of graphs using spreadsheets, trend analysis using scatter graphs and linear trend lines, and presentation and report writing techniques. By the end of the course, students will be equipped with the necessary skills to confidently report on the financial performance of businesses in the UK in a variety of formats and through different communication channels.
